Abstract	:	This is a preliminary proposal to encode the historic Brahmi script in the international character encoding standard Unicode. A revised version of this proposal was submitted in 2008 () and was approved. The Brahmi script was published in Unicode Standard version 6.0 in October 2010. Subsequent changes to the characters proposed here have been made in Unicode, so users should check the latest code charts, which are accessible at: .
