Abstract	:	Hangtown is a novel-in-stories centered on a small town in the Northern California foothills. Set immediately after the death of a prominent town citizen, this book explores the effect of history and legacy upon the former gold-mining hub and its inhabitants, through the lens of men and women struggling to survive a modern world that has left Hangtown, and all of them, far behind.
