Abstract	:	This paper explores one particular aspect of my thesis, which in it's entirety investigates the relationship between language, movement, and space. Sourcing from the American landscape in the form of literary texts, as well as geographical spaces, I hope to convey some of the complexities of what it means to be a product of a specific time and place. I investigate these spaces through the lenses of writings by Henry David Thoreau, Walt Whitman, and Jack Kerouac. Ultimately I argue that my kinesthetic investigation of places and texts work as generative sources for choreography and that the choreography becomes a way of understanding the texts in three dimensionality. This paper serves as a taste and exploration of my larger ideas.
