"This is the first published account of the political negotiations over Northern Ireland in 1992. It draws its vitality from interviews with the leading participants from Ireland, Britain and Australia and from comprehensive access to the confidential documents of the talks. This round of negotiations built on the previous year's talks under Peter Brooke and developed the process which ultimately led to the signing of the Good Friday Agreement in Belfast in 1998. The book makes clear the steady progress through the 1990s towards the success of 1998, along the way narrating the fascinating story of the personalities and positions involved.
