In the early 18th century prose fiction with a political edge, such as Jonathan Swift's 'Gulliver's Travels', was immensely popular. Swift was also actively involved in writing pamphlets and periodical essays which were overtly political. This volume gives due weight to his political ideas, allowing the reader to understand and share his concerns.
